about

The beautiful ballad "Bliss," co-written by Darryl with his manager Tony Haywood, opens with a melodic statement and solo featuring the full bodied tone of guitarist Jeff Ray. Both Ray and bassist Matthew Parrish play with ease and subtlety over the composition's chromatic harmony, supported by drummer Butch Reed's deft brush work. The subtle beauty of this piece is rendered even more effective by its tasteful placement within the overall programming of the disc.
